Profile

Kenji Shiba received the B.E., M.E., and D.E. degrees in electrical engineering from Tokyo University of Science, Chiba, Japan, in 1995, 1997, and 2000, respectively. From 2000 to 2001, he was a Research Fellow at Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. During 2001, he was with the Department of Human and Engineered Environmental Studies, University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, as a Research Associate. During 2002, he was with Tokyo University of Science as a Research Associate. Since 2004, he has been with the Department of Artificial Complex Systems, Hiroshima University, Higashi-Hiroshima, Japan, where he is currently an Associate Professor. His current research interests include implantable medical devices, bioelectromagnetics, and electromagnetic compatibility. Prof.Shiba is a member of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Society, the Japanese Society for Artificial Organs (JSAO), the Society of Life Support Technology, the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the Japan Society of Medical Electronics and Biological Engineering. He was the recipient of of the Best Paper Award from the Japanese Society for Artificial Organs in 2001.
